We did a little kitchen redo over the 3 day weekend.. here is the before.
All taped up...
Mark working his magic...
Almost there... primer coat is done..
It's not a very good picture. Cabinets on bottom right look white because of the sun, but they really do match everything else. I think I'm on the hunt for black, or stainless steel appliances now.

In a Winter Wonderland. That's the name of this pattern.
Started it in 2015, finished it 2016.
Could only work on it a little with my bad wrists/hands before they would give out. I love to do handwork while sitting down at night. Keeps me off my phone.
Decided to do sew on binding for the reason, I wanted it done before THIS Christmas. Hahha.
I sent it out to be quilted... I mean, REALLY sent it out. Saw a post I think it was on Facebook... "sew imagine that", long arm quilting. I followed her for a while, liked her work and was brave enough to MAIL it to her. She's in Louisiana. I have never done that before... I was scared to death. Would it make it, eek!! It did, and she returned it within 2 weeks. Wow... what a turn around. My gal here has a turn around of 6 months!
I think she did a wonderful job!

A while ago I showed you my collection of red truck pillows. I get one every year. I found this years pillow...
I can use it for about 4-5 different holidays. I got it from Decor Steals. Every day they have a different "daily steal". When I ordered it, I didn't even know it had a backing on it.
Even has a date on it. Love it!

Went to the annual and last...My Red Door Designs sale today. Brought a friend who is new to quilting. Oh boy! She has never heard of them.
Here is the yardage I got...
And more fun stuff...
They were giving away patterns, 2 per person. Fat quarters were 3 for $2.50. Fat eights, 4 for $2.00. All yardage was $3.00 & $5.00 a yard. And this is quilt store, Moda quality fabric.... I almost want to go back tomm and see what's left and stock up some more.
I got approx 55+yds of fabric... plus all the fun goodies, frame and packaged/precut material for less than $160.00
When you go to pay you find out there NOT ever going to have one again. your heart sinks. You pay & load your car, and then return for round 2. My heart is happy and sad at the same time. I'm happy I got some really good stuff, I'm happy for Donna and Linda to move on to the next chapter of there lives.. I'm sad I won't be able to see them again at any quilt shows. You just gotta pray they decide to have another warehouse sale since they will still be selling stuff, they gotta make room for the new stuff, right!?

We have done soo much in the last 2 weeks!
Thomas the train, watching skydivers and planes, horseback riding, children's museum just to name a few things.
Then we had to squeeze an early Easter in..
Museum was a hit!
Swimming almost every night...
Trips to the park EVERY day, most days 2x's... this was a small portion of what happened in the last 14 days.. I should have kept a diary of all we did.
Love this kid!
I'm tired.. but sad... tomorrow they leave.. 😒

Thomas the train... John John knew about him, wasn't a big fan of trains like he is with his tractors... until Sunday... we ventured off to the Perris train museum where Thomas was visiting. He had a blast! I thought we were just going for a small train ride, boy was I wrong! 3 hrs later we left. We went on 2 train rides and a trolley ride. They had like 4 hangers FULL of train displays.. all kinds, model trains, trolleys, 1900's trains of all kinds. Bounce houses, food..and interactive stations placed all throughout. Games of all kids.. an lots more..
He is such a ham!
This last Christmas he watched Polar Express... so this display was a big hit!and a petting zoo.. I forgot about that!
He has asked every day since.. "go see Thomas??"

Every Friday at work we have goodie day. We alternate between 4 different grade levels so every 4th Friday it's our groups turn. Since Easter will have passed by the next go around.. I made Easter treats this week.
Rice Krispy Easter eggs... hint..only do 1/2 batch at a time.. marshmallows started setting 1/2 way through..
Deviled eggs little chicks... which were a Pinterest fail for me.. they looked way better in pictures than they turned out. They tasted fine.
These bunnies.. made with small cheeses..
Then carrot patches made with hummus.
They were a hit!

Just have to figure the backing out.. I'm thinking tan minkie... have to watch for a sale now... fabric.com maybe..

Finished another quilt up using those men's shirts I got at Goodwill. I still have enough left to probably make another. The next one will have scraps from my dad and father in laws shirts mixed in. I have a few patterns picked out.. now just to decide.
It is a Bonnie Hunter free pattern called Scrappy Mountain Majesties! It measures about 76x105. Perfect for a blanket on the twin bed.

Every 3 months, Vintage Marketplace puts on an incredible show!
Got some wonderful time deals...
I know for a fact, there's about 3 ideas I'm going to copy... just have to go buy some dirt. I just love everything about it. It has changed locations and moved back to Rainbow (Fallbrook). Which I so love... much closer than where they tried it before.

It's funny how you don't see certain blocks till you are looking at the picture.
I'm talking about those DARK squares. But when the borders were added... it toned them down a lot. They didn't stand out that much when I laid them out. Noticed them more when I sewed them together. But they look fine all together. PERFECT!
Couldn't take any pictures outside because it was raining. Today it's still all wet, so the kitchen floor it is! Thanks to all of you who offered suggestions on taking the paper off. I'm trying all ideas!
"On eagles wings" by Edita Sitar... measures 72x84. 72 blocks.
Love it! This is the 2nd paper pieced quilt I did of hers.. love them both, but I think I finally have paper piecing out of my system..

Brought these out yesterday and started sewing and playing...
Every once in a while I play with them. Here's a close up.
BUT...... I still have all these to go..
Looks like a mess, but they are all together in stacks ready to go. Lights and darks... couldn't tell ya how many... I just cut up a lot of my scraps one day till I was sick of cutting. I have 32 made already. Takes me approximately 13 minutes to do 1 square.

Sitting next to my machine, probably for the last year... I had these cut up pieces for this quilt. Then every time I started or ended sewing something, I would slide a set in. Just doing that, I created a quilt without even trying.
I worked on the borders yesterday. I made this whole quilt up, just by looking a a picture that a fellow instagrammer, "patchalot" had posted.
Another one bites the dust! Once I get these UFO's finished.. I can concentrate on all the kits I have bought recently.

Isn't just so cute? Our PTA parents are pretty darn crafty... they know how picky I am on things being brought into my library... they are so funny. They brought a picture in from Pinterest and asked me if they made this, if they would be able to house it in the library..
I said yes.. and there it is!

Took me a while... saw a couple of pictures... had a vision... and created this BEAUTIFUL quilt top.
I made a trip to goodwill and bought a boatload of men's shirts. Spent next to nothing..Cut them up... still have a least half a boatload left after making this. I have another vision of making Bonnie Hunter's Majesty quilt with the left overs after seeing my good friend doing the same. Mariealena... you are just so stinking creative!
I just LOVE it!
It was pretty easy to figure out the pattern, without the pattern.
