lookie.....lookie...

Another one quilted and finished. Bought this one at Long Beach quilt show last year or the year before, can't remember it's been so long. I just love it!

Didn't get much quilting done today, the girls (granddoggies) were here for most of the day. Went to dinner at Amato's and now I'm playing with a new photo program. It does really cool stuff to your pictures and it's a free program. Gotta love it!

Wild Thing...

This is a Thimbleblossoms pattern. Whipped this up the other day. I started to cut it out and have it ready for a girls weekend, but couldn't stop! It is the cutest darn thing! It even has the LARGE ric-rac in it. Loved doing it. It measures 60 x 60. Had enough fabric to make a 60 x 68, but you have to follow the directions exactly if you want that size! When they tell you to cut your squares RIGHT SIDE UP! they mean RIGHT SIDE UP! I started out good, then forgot a little. oops!

Happy Valentine's Day

This is #6 from my "to finish quilting"stack! It has a label on it.. "desert to the sea" 2008! I lost count on how many are left because I keep making more! At least I finish the tops, I just don't have enough time to quilt them all. I don't think I could handle having UFO's. (Unfinished ...??) . That's 1 thing I make myself do is finish a project that I have started.

Aren't these just the prettiest! My sweet hubby brought these home to me! Love ya' hun!!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

charity quilts and pillowcases

Charity quilt done! Actually 2 done, I am sending them one that I made also. Some little boy will love it. www.Quiltsforkids.org. you too can help these little kids that are in hospitals!
Calling all quilters, sewers and crafters! American Patchwork & Quilting is challenging you to join our efforts to Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Every pillowcase can make a difference in your community. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.
I did my part, I helped my Monday night quilt class participate in this, I want to say we are close to 100 pillowcases if not more!

quilts for kids

This week in the mail, I got my Downey quilt kit. I ordered it on a Monday night and by the end of the week, it was here. The program is called the Downey Touch of Comfort. Quilts for Kids comforts children in need, so this is a perfect partnership. So when they are in the hospital getting treatment, they are given a quilt and the kids are loving it! You can sign up at http://www.quiltsforkids.org/, just click on the volunteer button and fill out the form. They send you everthing you need to make the quilt and even a label. They just ask that you make an additional quilt using your own stash of fabrics before sending it back.
