"Cabin Fever" Brunch..

Our Friendship group got together together at Marian's house to exchange our snowman blocks. She made us the most scrumptious Strada with the most yummiest salad and fresh fruit to go with. That was just the 1st course..

Then we had home made scones with jellies/jams and cookies, and 3 different types of tea. That table I didn't take a picture of.( I was in a food coma), couldn't think.
 We have the best friends...
Then after we all exchanged our blocks, we rolled out of our chairs and took a tour of her amazing house!
These are just a couple of different views. Every time I go over there, I am in aww, of everything. I want to come home and make 1 of everything that girl has created.
Which I did, I will show you pictures later on of what I came home and made after seeing them at her house! And I will show you all the snowman blocks also!!! They turned out wonderful! Everyone did an awesome job!

cute idea!!

This is a cute idea that came from Gooseberrypatch.com...
Vintage Button Bookmark
You'll need...
buttons
embroidery floss
optional: tassel, charm

Sort through your button box to find enough buttons to create a bookmark the length you want. When lined up edge to edge, it should be between 6" and 8" long. For this project, flat ones work the best. Lace the floss through two holes of each button so they will lay flat. Tie ends to secure the buttons and add a tassel or charm at one end, if you like.
Have a special button that really stands out? Sew it onto a length of silky ribbon for an easy twist on this bookmark.
What's better than making these sweet bookmarks for girlfriends? Inviting those same girlfriends over for a "crafternoon" of course! Get together on Valentine's Day or any day...everyone can bring their favorite supplies and a creative idea or two to share.
Be sure to stop by the blog later this week for a yummy treat to make and enjoy with your crafty friends!

fabric postcard...

Rec'd this in the mail today... it's a postcard made from fabric!! On the front are these cute cut out hearts with embroidery all around them.
I learned how to make these the other night at a class the Cottage was offering. This was the sample we made that night, and just for kicks and giggles I wanted to mail it to me to see how ruined it would get in delivery.
We bought these little panel backs...put the front and the back together with stabilizer in the middle. Cute little edge border all the way around.. and Ta-Da!!...they are the cutest things...I expected it to be in bad shape when I got it and I was surprised at what good shape it was in when I pulled it out of the mailbox.

it's sewwww ezi...

This was my big purchase at the show...
This table is perfect for retreats, classes, you name it... I can use it. Ans it's at the right height, I don't get a nagging back ache..
It's light, portable, made to fit my machine... This isn't my machine in the picture, but mine slides right in. It's great... doesn't wobble or shake. Portable, has wheels, will travel!

pin cushion...

Who would have ever thought that using this silly little needle that looks like some type of weapon when you take it out ...
Would make such a beautiful little needle art work on my machine...
That I turned into a pin cushion...

little peek...

Here is a little peek for the girls in my "Cabin Fever" friendship group. It looks really big, but I only took a close up of  his face and that's all that I am going to show you!
We all made 8 of these little cuties, we got to pick our own snowman pattern,  for each one in our group. When we get together at the end of the month, we all exchange the blocks we made and then we end up with basically a whole snowman quilt that just has to be put together.

handy dandy little bag...

Isn't this the cutest little bag ever!! It's a snap bag made from 2 fat quarters and 2 pieces of measuring tape that was cut up! It measures 8x8 when all finished and is even lined on the inside. With the measuring tape in the top lining, it makes the bag, snap closed, really kinda cute.
Has little prairie points that are the handles. Without operator error, this can be made like in 10 mins.
This cute little wall hanging I made from homespuns. Started 2 different ones before Halloween, and am just now finishing up the 2nd one. I sprayed it with the coffee/tea stain, but I think it needs another dose tomm. Not quite dark enough

spools

Last year our Friendship group, every time we got together,  swapped spools with each other. They could be any size, color, shape. So here is what I did with mine. I still have 4-5 more that I just couldn't fit in that are going on the backing. I used material from my stash, (which is not big at all!) but I just can't find the right one to go around for the border. My basket of quilts to long arm is over flowing again, so maybe I have some extra fabric from one of the quilts in there! I have been a busy bee lately. Now back to work on Monday! YUCK!!!

cutie patootie!!!

Look at these adorable outfits that my girlfriend made!!!
She took old pairs of jeans and made the cutest little skirts!!
Then she went and embellished the shirts shirts so it's a matching pair!! I tell you , they are the cutest things ever! taking pictures on the tile floor doesn't show them justice. She started making them to sell at a little farmers market type thing and people are LOVING them!! Only $24.00 for the set.

I forgot to write the sizes down so if anyone is interested, email me and I will ask.

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year... Hope your new year is everything you could wish for. I know mine will be! I started my year out with a muscle spasm in my back and can barely catch my breath every time I move. Good thing I have the week off !
