Memory quilt....

Over the summer we had the Secretary of out school pass away very unexpectedly.
The week before this happened she was having a grand ol' time in Hawaii with here family.
So I so graciously, made a Hawaiian quilt....

Had the entire Staff sign flowers in the shape of a lei on the back...

The picture was their family picture they took while on vacation there...
Then made a label..

So sad.... Cherish each and every single day my friends!

SOS...

I have a friend in blog land, Paulette, at www.sweetp-Paulette.blogspot.com who I have never met, but hope to do so one day when she's visiting soon, anyways... On her blog today she wrote about a friend, who's mother lost her entire SEWING STASH in a horrible fire. Her daughter put out an SOS to anyone who could send her mom a fat quarter!
So Paulette had a better idea... Why not fill an envelope and send it to her..
So here is mine...

Can you just imagine her face when she starts getting all these packages!
You can get the whole story at www.quiltyfolk.blogspot.ca. I haven't figured out how to put a link by using my iPad yet. So you will have to copy and paste. Maybe someday.. I have lots of stuff to sew and don't have time for that silly stuff.
Hope you have time to do this... She will be tickled.

Monday , again...

Boy, the week flies by and the weekend even faster..

Show and tell.. Someone brought her husband to show and tell, and he showed his very first quilt he made. He was jealous of his wife and all the beautiful quilts she was making, so he went out, bought his own machine and started quilting.

This was a pattern given out last semester..red..white..blue..

This was Ann's.. Bigger than a queen size!

Love this panel!

Here's re, white, blue again..

Jelly roll quilt... Jury still out if I like this pattern..

Until next Monday..I'll try to post something before then.😀

Monday night...

I just love Monday night sharing...
So many talented people...

This one above was designed by her 13 year old grandaughter... She's a natural!
And this is our class project that were working on now.

I made this up last year and everyone loved it and wanted to do it. I got the pattern off internet and just put a plain block next to it.

Fun day....

We'll it a sewing say here. Too hot to work in the yard... About 104+
I started seeing the squares..

I have a gazillion to do... They belong to hubby's dad who passed away a couple years ago now. He brought 3 BOXES of shirts home and asked if I could make a quilt for him.. Sure, buts that's an awful lot of shirts I said... And also 3 more.. 1 for ea of the other siblings... Oh my goodness..I can't say no, but does he not realize just what goes into 1 quilt, let a lone 4!!!! So, I have been procrastinating on doing this. I started out good... Took me at least a week alone to de-bone all the shirts, and not even counting about 4 loads of laundry to wash them.. Yuck! And then to figure out an easy pattern times 4.
But then today, I got bored again..
So I spotted extra wool over in the corner... Then saw a picture on a blog...
Then made this..

Put a piece of flannel on the back, and whoala! It's the cutest little table topper. A candle or something special will sit in the middle..
Pretty good for making up your own pattern. Took me less than an hour.

Painting...

It's time to paint... They used just plain ol'cheap paint, probably watered it down too... When they built the house.. Should have lasted longer than 12 yrs, but it didn't. Just the trim and patio...I'm too old and lazy these days to paint so I will gladly , in a heartbeat, pay someone to do this in a day which would have taken me probably a good full weekend, if not more to do.

I will supply all food and water for these guys... It is easily gonna be over 100 degrees today!

Monday night class...

I just LOVE Monday night quilting class in Fallbrook.
It started many, many moons ago as part of Palomar College and when they dropped it, we kept it going. So, I've been going at least 6 yrs+, but others have been there from the start... Like 10yrs+.
There is such fun people to chat with and they all have the best sharing.

And of course I had to stop at the best fruit stand in Fallbrook also... Eli's... And when you get there 40 mins before it closes.... You get the best deals. BONUS!

Girls weekend away...

This was an amazing sewing weekend. Not like anything in the past. First of all, we went from 7 girls going down to 4. We missed the ones who couldn't join us very much! Then we were in a new house because the one we have used for the last like, decade, wasn't available anymore.. We were scared what the house was going to be like because we were just going off pictures.

The grounds were HUGE and amazing...
This house got ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5 stars ) from us.

It was just soo fun and soo different. We went out to dinner, had a wonderful breakfast, went walking, went to the quilt show, lunch, antique and thrift shopping, grocery store, came home sewed.... Homemade pasta dinner, SPA!! And sewed ALL night till almost 2:00.

House is opened up, listening to the water falls on the property and all the blue jays talking to each other and waiting for the girls to get their butt in gear so we can go on another walk. Amazing!

Flag...

Started prepping projects for a "Dr. Bernina" weekend coming up, and before I knew it, she was done...
Don't you hate when you put things off because you think they will take too long !

Now it goes in the "to be quilted" pile.
