round&round.....

A thimble blossoms quilt by Camile Rosekelly. Measure well over 68x72 because I made it a lot bigger so I could use it as a blanket at Christmas time.

I have it just laid out here to take a picture. Can't wait for the holiday season to start so I can put it on the bed.

Special spot...

Did you ever put things away in that special spot, and then forget where it was? I did that at Christmas and totally forgot about it until someone asked me a name of a pattern. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks like 15 mins after that. I made a quilt for my daughter, hid it because I didn't want her to see it when she was here and remembered yesterday.

Even has a label...
Early Christmas present for her...

Star Surround....

This is the one that I put together in August 2013.
It was a blog sew a long from happy quilting...Could never find the right backing...
It looks WAY better quilted and done...and washed...love it all crinkly.. Wasn't very excited with it before, probably why it sat for so long. Found a backing... Reminds me of the coca cola bear..

But matches perfect..then there's the binding..

Sewn on binding...looks wonderful!

B & N laundry...

I found, through a friend, the most amazing natural laundry room items in the world! They are all natural and chemical free..safe to use if anyone in your family has alergies of any kind. It's perfect for babies also.
The little canister holds my "lemon " soap. Just 1 itty bitty scoop full does a full load, and if the load is extra dirty... Add another scoop full.. There are 3 different scents, with 1 being plain.. Love them all, but lemon is my fav. That little stain stick... OMG! It gets out everything I've tried. Get it wet, rub it on, and BAM! Has a piece of wool on bottom that acts like a scrubber also. The creator of these item has twins and she swears by them.
No more dryer sheets... The 100% wool dryer balls are the best. Throw them in your dryer, they fluff, get the wrinkles out, and now more dryer sheets. Does like 100 loads...when they start to unravel you know it's time to replace.  I was getting like oil spots on my sheets sometimes from them.(dryer sheets) really making me mad, because they were BRAND new sheets too!
Follow her on Instagram. bandnlaundry or bandnlaundry.com
She is becoming quite popular these days. You will find her items in Ross depot stores  I think also. She's made it in Goodhousekeeping magazine, and has made it on a TV show also I heard. And best of all...... She is like 15 mins away from my house!

Took this picture this week. I spotted it as I was running out the door to work. It stopped me in my tracks.
I unlocked the back door and climbed on fountain and just stood there in awww.. Needless to say, I was a tad bit late for work. Amazing!

Brag post...

Want to send out a little brag post about my daughter. It was approved/announced last night at the board meeting that she will be the NEW Assistant Principal at China Spring Intermediate School.
She has worked especially hard the last couple months to achieve this and I couldn't be more happier for her.
Congratulations Kelly.... We 💕you!

Evening projects....

Whenever I sit down and watch my recorded shows...which is not often...I guess I'm ADD or ADHD, not sure which one it is..I just can't sit there. My mind does not shut off. So I do a hand project while watching/listening. I completed one last year, "over the river..." . This time I am doing "winter wonderland" by Crab-Apple Hill.
It's sideways, I know. I took it with iPad. I'm doing it in blues though.
Here's the 1st block of many..
I'm hoping. Hoping! That it might be done for Christmas! Hahaha.

UFO kit...completed

I received this kit many, many years ago from my sweet sister. Years got away from me and couldn't believe the fabric was dated 2009! Unbelievable quilt, but boy, was it way over my head. I set it aside....for years.. Looked at it every now and then, put it back. Did that quite a few times. Finally I got the courage to start it last weekend.

It is called Pacific Rim Quilt. It is using RJR fabrics, and the collection is by the wonderful Jinny Beyer. Pattern is by Debbie Beaves. It measures about 61x61"
As I was about almost done and things weren't quite laying flat and measuring up as they were supposed to be...I then realized I should have checked to see if there were any pattern corrections. Although I couldn't find any listed, there must be some somewhere because between my husband and  I, we could not put this thing together as easy as it should have been.
It needs a good pressing, but I couldn't look at it any more. It was late, I was tired. So, I made the backing and did the binding...magic binding at that! And put it upstairs to be quilted.
Crazy how spectacular it is...
And the binding...can't tell the color, but it matched the quilt perfect with an accent of the green.
On to the the next project now...

Sneak peak....

Here's a sneak peak at my library. It's not done yet, or cleaned, but I snapped a couple pictures.
These are the baskets that the "roadrunner rewards" will go in.. When the kids do good, they get a slip and at the end of every month we pick 2 kids per grade level and have a pizza party.

And there ya go... A sneak peak. First day of school is Monday. I think having kids will be a lot easier than having the teachers today. Boy, are they big BABIES!

Pine Ridge....

She is 33" square and adorable!
Red Door Designs... Pine Ridge, even though they are on the small side, they went together very easily.
Don't look too close, I didn't bother spritzing the blue lines off where I quilted it. I wanted to take a picture before it got really dark.

I spy.....

Little house and trees....
They are 6" tall.... And cute as a button!
Should be put together this week.... That is if my other job cooperates.

Weekend...

My weekend was spent shopping and binding...
Now that I'm 2 weeks back into work, I am getting my library all put back together. We have a lot of new things happening in my work space. We moved out the 33 computers and put them in classrooms, that were in the back of library, the "computer lab". We now have 30+ kindles for the kids to work on. We have couches & love seats, bean bags, tables, stools and all sorts of new seating arrangements for the kids to enjoy. I'll take pictures when it's finished.
Now I am in charge of "roadrunner rewards". (1 of my gazillion new hats). We give these out to kids when they do something good of any sort. We used to have this god-ugly red ruby, sparkling hat box, eesh! Not in my library..
This is what I came up with.
Much better! It can stand or hang.
Then while waiting for the spa to heat up, I put the binding on my 'disappearing hourglass' quilt.

Now, I'm set for a lazy Sunday, with nothing on the agenda..

Good bye summer...

It has been awesome! Tomorrow, Tuesday, I go back to work.
I know am so lucky to even get a summer break, we're talking like 5 weeks! If your not in the teaching field, very few people get a break like this. We do work our butts off though, and we have definitely earned it. Just sad when it comes to the end. I cherish every day and am thankful each morning I wake up and can enjoy this wonderful time. Well, I'm thankful every day I get to wake up.. That's for sure!
Now we're on the countdown till Thanksgiving break!

Disappearing hourglass...

This is what's loaded on the machine now...

Measures 60x68...Red Door Designs... It's going to be perfect for the couch!

Crazy for red....

Finished off "crazy for red" yesterday. Amazing how much sewing one can done in the middle of the night when you just CANT sleep!

It's about 82x82. It's going on the bed as a blanket when Christmas time rolls around. Let's hope I get it quilted before then tho.
Yea know.... Just 18 more Friday 's before Christmas! So, that means really... In order for me to get it on the bed...probably like 14 more Friday 's. EEK!

8.1.81

34 years ago, I got married.. Straight outa high school, my family thought I was nuts!
Still going strong!
Every single year, he buys me roses. 1 for each year we've been married. Has not missed a year yet. Even when we've been on vacation, I walk into a hotel room, and they are. Amazing.. This year is 34, 2 short of 3 dozen. He brought them home yesterday and then when I went in my sewing room...there were the 2 extra.
We had no real plans today..ended up looking at cars and came home with a new ride for me!
I have always had an SUV. 5 yrs ago we traded in my jeep Cherokee because it was on the edge of being a lemon. Always in the shop for electrical issues, and we got a Hyundai. It is a good little car, never had an issue with it, warranty is unbelievable, but it's not an SUV. So we traded Marks car in and got me my SUV back. Kept the Hyundai for Mark.
Happy anniversary honey! Here's to another 34+ years!
