last couple of days..

This one is called "Strip apple-pinapple". Got it out of a book called "More strip clubbing". I finished this quilt on Monday and I only have a couple of days left of vacation and yesterday my husband tells me has decided to take this Friday and Monday off also. AGGGHHH!!! I cannot get a darn thing done when he is here. Then Tuesday I start back to work. All my plans are thrown out the window.

Then I finished this on Tuesday. "Strip Search" is pattern. Could be from the same book. Not sure. Very easy. It was a Friday night class. I have another on the rack upstairs and will finish that one today. I have soo many more that are in the basket just waiting to get quilted. I don't know if I ever will be caught up, because there is another basket that has about 15 more that is waiting on me to buy backings for them.

My favorite once a month Friday class is day after tomorrow. Yahoo!! Kelly picked the fabrics for this one when she was here. It has an old fashioned baseball theme to it. Pretty cool. I hope it turns out cute.

Sunday visit

The girls came over yesterday and spent the day with me while Steven and Mark went out and did some work. This is my girl Mia, she will never let that darn tennis ball out of her sight.

And this is Lollie, she is crazy about her "super chicken" toy. As soon as she comes in the door she goes straight to the toy basket and gets it out. Mia then grabs a tennis ball and then they both run to the back door and then they want out so they can jump right in the pool. She literally can keep her self busy ALL day long. She throws it in the pool herself and then jumps in and gets it, and does that ALL day long! In and out and in and out.

She rescued it! Yahoo!

Cupcakes and Quilts

This is the latest quilt I finished. I can never take a good picture, one is laying on the ground with a crease in the middle and the other is hanging, not very good.My banister isn't big enough. I didn't do a very good job on my variety of squares when laying it out, they were suppose to be random and lay any way they want. Only 2 ended up that way. Oh well. I went by color when I laid it out and didn't think about HOW they were laying.

This is the cutest little cupcake pincushion I've ever seen! I have it in small, medium and large. I'll post the other 2 soon! Marian has them right now. This one measures about 2 1/2" off the ground and is about 3" around. Cute, cute, cute! I have a couple extra, oh, they can be made in color you want!!

happenings....

Woke up yesterday morning to see this out my back yard.
Which ended up being the Canyon Lake shopping center. 8 business'- gone! Pffft!! In almost an hour.

Kelly is in Los Angeles now watchong Harry Potter at the Academy. She leaves tomorrow, then we won't see her till Christmas.

Southern California quilt runs ends tomorrow, but today was my last day to help the girls out. I spend sooo much money there! Found this kit, LOVE IT!! It looks brighter than what it is, they are more Civil War colors, the darker browny kind, not sure how to explain it. I also got backing for about 4 more quilts I have sitting under the table that are just waiting ever so patiently to get quilted. I'll be busy. I have 2 more jobs, possibly 3.

Here's the back yard all prettied up. I won't show you the grass I killed by over fertilizing it. But the pool water and the dogs don't help it all either. It just turns to a mud puddle after awhile. I want the artificial grass sooo bad. I have 4 estimates, but just have a hard time trying to find $3,000!!!
Anyways... thats about all that's happening here. Monday I think will be back to normal. Kelly's gone and Mark goes back to work. I have the house to myself! Yahooooo! I can finish the quilt I have on the rack thats mine and start a new one. By the way... it was 112 degrees here today!! I did my yard work at 8:00 at night, And still had sweat pouring down my back. Also... anyone know how to add pictures as you type?? Every time I added a new picture it put it at the top of the page. I had to write my post backwards today and add all the pictures before I even typed anything. ! Stupid thing!

Busy, busy summer!

I can't beleive it beens over 2 weeks of vacation already! There is still soo much that has to be done. Kelly is still here till this weekend, she is going to see Harry Potter at the Acadamy in LA this Saturday with Michele, how exciting for her! I hope she'll see someone famous.

We had our pool cleaned today. They took off all the calcium build up. It looks pretty, it's filling back up now. Can't get the tile wet for 24 hrs, they put a sealer on it, but with the 105 degree weather we have (and it's just a little after noon time), I'm sure the end of the day will be good. Quilt run has been going on and I have been helping out at the Cottage, 3 days last week and 3 days this week. Store credit!! WHOO-HOOOO! Love it!! Pays for this expensive quilting habit I have. Show you more of the back yard when it's all cleaned up.

Summer Vacation has started

All right, I'm back. What a week. Last week was Steven's B-day, my baby turned 25! We went to his house for dinner and saw his family. (him, Ronna, and the dogs). Thursday and Friday were crazy at work, end of school is tuff, especially our first year going from year round school to semi-traditional. Friday was the last day of school for the kids and Tuesday (yesterday) was my last day. Busy, busy, I was!! But I am now on my first summer vacation until August 4th and I haven't slowed down a bit.

I finished the quilt in the picture. Kelly came into town and left. Just got back from taking her to the airport. She will be back in a week. Transplanted 3 HUGE, did I say HUGE plants! So HUGE it took 3 of us to do it. Working on re-upholstering 2 chairs in the back yard. Mark sat down on one of them and RIP!! I ordered material should be here tomorrow and then I'll show you before and after pictures. Ordered a roll of batting and then I can finish up 2 more quilts on the long arm. I have to get an oil change tomorrow also, I sure hope my whole summer is not this busy every day.
