Mission Inn

Went to the Mission Inn in Riverside for dinner last Saturday. I have driven by it before and probably walked through it for a conference before, but really never stopped to look at how gorgeous it really is and how much history is really there.

Friday night class

This is the quilt top I walked away with last night from Quilter's Cottage in Fallbrook. Had a GREAT time, it was a full class! these girls crack me up. The pattern is called Town Square and I use new fabrics from Robyn Pandolph that I just love. Marian picked them out, thanks Mare! Love them! Just love them. I got 3 more quilts from girls last night to long arm, plus I have 1 from Jackie, and 1 from Marian that I have to do. Ordered a roll of batting this morning, hopefully it will be here this week. Good thing summer vacation is coming up. Plus the shop needs more button cards and greeting cards. I am going to be BUSY!!!! I also joined a friendship group in Fallbrook and I have a new project I have to have done in 2 weeks! Good thing Mark doesn't get home earlier than 7:00 every night. I have plenty of sewing time every afternnon.

This weeks doings...

This is my Friday night quilt that I have been putting off on finishing it up. It is call Giopinno and it is a Quilt Soup Pattern. Friday night quilting is the BEST. One Friday night a month at the Quilter's Cottage in Fallbrook we have a class. They pick the pattern, we pick the fabrics and for 5 hours we sew, sew, sew! Plus..... we get dinner served and they do ALL the ironing. So we sew, and sew and they iron and iron and iron! It's great. Usually you can walk away that night with your quilt top done. Love it! Tomorrow is our next class, so I can show you this next week what I made.

baby quilts

Got to visit with my sister Audrey and her family over the weekend and see lots of family. My nephew Tyler rec'd his Master's and they had a graduation party for him. Since I don't have grandbabies of my own, I spoil my sister's. These are 2 of the quilts that I made for the little ones. Charlotte Rose belongs to Tyler and Kristen. Had lots of fun. I still have 1 more baby quilt to make for her son that lives out of state.

New Blog!

Well, let's give it a try. I created this blog a year ago and never have posted. Maybe intimidated, afraid of not being able to keep it up. Not sure, but I am going to do it. Not sure how often things will get posted especially with pictures, but we'll give it a try. The picture that I am practicing with is from my Epiphyllum plants I have growing in the backyard. Awesome plant, I bought a couple of diffrent colors this past year and can't wait till they bloom. For now, this is it. I'll try this again maybe tomorrow.
