ironing board cover

I have 2 ironing boards. A normal size one in the laundry room and a small one in my sewing room, I should say the downstairs sewing room. (I am lucky enough to have 2 sewing rooms) Lucky me. Anyways.. http://www.modabakeshop.com/ has a recipe to make an ironing board cover. And this is the final project. Check it out. Lots of good stuff there. Plenty to keep you busy.

4 and 5..

So here is # 4 and #5, 4 being an pattern called "two block hop"and I won't tell you when I actually sewed it together. But it is now all sewn, quilted and binded and is sitting at the foot of my bed.

#5 is on the machine now and will be for a while! I picked the worst pattern a person could pick! For one set going across it has like 6 or 7 different lines I have to sew to complete the row. It literally takes me about 15 mins just to get across the whole stinken' thing! I'm about 1/4 of the way through only. AHHGGG. So... #4 with 19 to go, and #5, I only have 18 more.Whoo-Hooo!!

new shelf...

I got a new corner shelf for my dining room! It is made out of 2 old doors for the sides and old wood for the shelves. I bought it at an antique store in downtown Lake Elsinore. Cant wait to decorate it, it will look sooo much better! Having Mark build a plate rack for one of the shelves so I can stack plates sideways on it. Isn't it a beauty!!

baseball anyone?

Kelly picked the colors out on this one during the summer. She wanted a quilt to take to the baseball/softball games. It is called Garden Path and it measures out 55x 71.
I have 3 down and 19 to go, but I made a quilt today using my extra red fabric left over from my quilts this year. So it's 3 down 20 to go. #'s have changed!
I used 8 1/2 squares with a 3" border. It turned out really cute and super easy! Like under 2 hours easy.

2 down and 20 to go!

alrighty... I'm on a roll, let's see how long it lasts. Maybe not so much when I go back to work. I still have 1 more week off. I got 2 down so far and 20 more to quilt from ,my basket. The total will rise when I start making more also.

The colors aren't the greatest on these, it's dark in the kitchen. This is the friendship quilt we started months ago. I gave the center block and each month we passed it to someone else in the group and they added to it, and this is the finished product. Didn't it turn out great!
