After all said and done after the pattern ended... I added on. I put a 2" red/dark pink of the constant fabric for a border and then another row of 4 patches and then after that... I added ANOTHER row of 4 patches to top and bottom. PHEW!
The reason for that is because I wanted to use this as a blanket on my bed. I wanted the sides to hang down a tad bit more to make sure we're covered and not fighting over it. Then the extra at the top and bottom is so that I have enough to tuck in at the end of the bed and enough to snuggle up with at the neck area. It's final size is 97x103.
I ran out of the border material when I decided what I wanted to do and had to order another yard. So while I was waiting, I was playing with these...
My goal is to make a quilt like this...
I also have a friend that made one also and I am just in love. I stocked up on my Goodwill shirts and am ready to go.

Beautiful mystery quilt finish. I love what you did to the border.
I always make my quilts larger, the size you've made is perfect. I guess people don't normally use quilts on their beds or else they don't snuggle under them. Your quilt is lovely. I want to sew this pattern sometime. Our oldest son & DIL's 25th anniversary will be here before I know it. She loves purple and I thought this would be a good pattern to use. I've always like that plaid quilt too. Happy sewing! villacrestfarm@gmail.com
I like what you did with the border on En Provence. I've felt like it needed something extra. Not sure what I want to do when I get to that part. May I use your idea?
It looks wonderful. I am very impressed by all the neutral four patches you made.
