Star Crossed...

By Primitive Gatherings.
Is THEE most ASININE pattern EVER!
The directions are just plain ridiculous. There is no sense to the cutting of this pattern what so ever. It literally took me 3 days to try to figure out what/where/who she was doing when she wrote these directions. I checked Lisa’s page to see if there were any corrections and there was not. I think that’s what got my vertigo going out of control. Standing there with my head bent down for 3 days, trying to make sense. I’m still dizzy!

I bought it as a kit, and I swear I have at least 5 yds of fabric left over. I could make 3 more quilts from the leftovers.

Here are 40/42 blocks all cut out ready to sew and all that fabric in picture above is left over. Can’t really see it, but at least a quarter/half yard of each print sits there. There are 30 different prints.
This was the sample block that I had to play with to make sure everything was gonna turn out.

My head is not into sewing these, but if I don’t, it will NEVER get done. So here I go...

Halloweeen mystery...

The quiltingcompany.com is having a Halloween mystery sew along and the first clue was posted last week.
two stacks of 6 each, and they finished at 6 1/2” square.
Then I whipped up 2 pillow case for John John.

A yard of each and it makes 2 pillow cases. Paw Patrol, Chase is on the case! (As he would say.)
I’m done for the day... watered the plants, gave the dog a bath, flea treatment also... now time for dinner.

Oh, and also put #’s on the house... finally figured out why UPS, FedEx, all the delivery guys kept questioning the address.. there wasn’t one anywhere except on mailbox, wayyyy out on the street.

En Provence...

I think that is the name of this one.
It’s a Bonnie Hunter/Quiltville...mystery sew a long. I think last years, maybe 2 years...I don’t remember. I finished it right away... just quilted it now. I had to wait till I could set up the full 12’ rails on the machine. I made it extra big, so I could use it on the bed. 97” X 103” I believe.  It’s purple... not a big fan of purple, out of my comfort zone... but I went for it. I am horrible at picking out colors for a pattern that I don’t know what’s it’s gonna look like.

Then as I’m washing it... I look out the window and see these guys...

There were 8 of them... never have they been that close... and all the babies.... adorable.... I say that now until they chew on my plants.

Quilt Show...

I am participating in the Quilt Shows block of the month.

Edyta Sitar is the designer/star behind this years quilt.
With moving, my boxes got lost somewhere in storage and I am still not sure I have them all. I found enough to continue on for now.

Here is what I have so far.

There are 3 of each and a couple were made more than once. The directions were wrong on a couple, so I made them again thinking that it was my mistake, but... it wasn’t. And there are 3 different blocks also each month.

I have just finished month 5.. 3 more to go and I’ll be caught up.

Moda..

Moda Blockheads 2...
Here is what I have so far.

I bought the kit from Primitive Gatherings and didn’t receive it till late last week. Almost 5 weeks after I ordered it. So I had to play catch-up this last couple of days.

I am mimicking Lisa’s blocks. She had some issues to deal with the last 2 weeks so she was a little late on posting. I picked out these colors in block above but she did a similar block like the dark one below. So I made one similar to hers also.

So I have 2 blocks to choose from now. I see where she is going color wise when I see all hers laid out. My one block with off white corners looks out of place. I will hold on to it for future options. There are like 4 shades of fabrics of that yellow/off white in the kit and not sure how she is going to fit them in.  They may fit eventually.
I have all the directions saved for the splendid sampler block sew along... another free sew along...I may work on those this week. They are on week 8 and this Wednesday #9 comes out.. I better decide quick before I get too far behind.

I was wrong...

He did it. 37 red, long stem roses!

August...

Wow! Can it really be!?
Happy Anniversary to us... 37 years! Mark always gets me roses every year, enough roses for every year we’ve been married. I don’t expect any this year. With the big move to Texas and both of us getting new cars after selling them before we moved. Plus trying to figure out a new place...
That’s a lot!
I’m just thankful to be here and starting a new adventure with him! Here’s to another 37 years, Happy Anniversary!
