wool, wool, wool...

 I know you have seen a picture of this quilt before.. but this one is MINE!!!  I did all the quilting free hand all by myself! Took about 12 hours to quilt the darn thing.. could barely move the following days. Well worth it though. I finally finished it up this past weekend.

Isnt it funny.. you can never see the loose threads laying on it till you see the picture you have taken on the computer.

seam ripper...

Have you ever seen one of these before?? It is the most beautiful thing! No one will ever get my seam ripper confused with theirs anymore... I have a one of a kind seam ripper.... but I will most likely have to keep a close on eye it so it doesn't disappear... :)

My wonderful sister in Massachusettes sent it me. It is carved from a block of dyed birch laminate, which is hard and durble, and very exotic looking. So the paper says... when the blade goes dull, they will replace it for a small fee of $3.50. Never heard of that before, but I LOVE it!

Farmer's Wife...

Here is the start of my Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt... Only about 100 more squares to go!... I am paper piecing them, and each one takes no LESS than 30 mins ea. One of them took me over an hour!

And that wasn't even a hard one to do. I have heard horror stories about some blocks.. my quilt may be smaller than the original quilt shown in the book..

Here she is..."Starburst Mix".. She is made all of Wooloies... soft., soft, soft.. Flannels are the most softest quilts.. Just LOVE them! Ordered it off of www.thepineneedlequiltshop.com. Woolies

Oh my goodness....have you ever seen or worked with this flannel? It is the best!!! I ordered a kit from www.thepineneedlequiltshop.com that had these in it. It is a high quality flannel that has the look of wool, but is all flannel! For Christmas, I got another kit and can't wait to show you what it looks like when I finish it!

Civil War...

Bought this quilt pattern at the cottage, not even looking at the size that it would be, you think with the price of the kit it would be HUGE!, NOT!!!!

It is a measley 32x37... Its gonna be a nice table topper though!

I just love Civil War fabrics... this one is called "Lizzie's Tents".
