Summertime....

Not much sewing going on here lately. Spending my days babysitting this little guy. There are a lot of walks and swimming and playing happening here.

Then when grampy is home, all eyes are on him... Here is his learning how to fix the chair..

This is the quilt I finished the day before they got here. It is called 'disappearing hourglass' from My Red Door Designs.  Looks way harder to make than it actually was.

And that's about it from here. I am trying to make & follow the sew along from Temecula Quilt store, the one using 1/2" hexagons.. I'm on part 2 of 5.  Time will tell if I finish it or not. Sure would like to see what it's gonna look like before I invest any more time into it though!

Trying out blogger instead of blog press.. Even though I updated EVERYTHING, it still wasn't working.

Update....

From around March 29th.. Blog press has not been working on my iPad. I uninstalled, re installed and no luck. Tonight has been the furthest I have got to work with it. I have a couple posts stuck in my draft folder and every time I click on them to even look, the whole program shuts down. A lot has been happening in last 3 weeks so I think I will just have to skip to the present.
So I will just post a quick picture of 1 of the many things I have finished up.

Welllll.... Maybe not! I click on the camera and nothing happens....
Not sure, but maybe my little ol'blog has come to an end..
I'll have to check out and see what programs everyone else is using.
I'll keep working on it. It's not recognizing my photo album.

Finished up a few things a couple of weeks ago, but have been on overload at work to post. This is the 'round and round ' pattern by thimble blossoms. It's a horrible picture because you really can't see what pretty colors they are. I did them in christmas colors. I made it bigger by adding a couple strips on middle here and there so i could use it as a blanket on my bed at Christmas time. It's like 82x87. Something like that. I'm going to finish the edges with scallops.





This next one was a freebie from jeni's blog from the willow. She started off really good with blocks like once a week. It was awesome. Then she got side tracked and didn't post for months. I kept up until then. Once she stopped, I stopped. I was over it! So this is a minature version of hers. It's short like 5 blocks. There are like 5 others I couldn't make fit equally so they didn't make it in quilt.


Now those are both off to the next pile of waiting to be quilted. I actually am in the middle of quilting one. Till my back started acting up!

Love it!

This was on face book & I just LOVED it!! This Dad wins "best Dad of the year".. In my opinion!

Mr snowman...

Bought snowman pattern at Red Door Design and then found this frame at Goodwill I think, but it was GOLD. Altered then pattern to my liking and painted the frame white. Ta-da!



There's a shadow because it's night. Turned out pretty cute.

Principal of the year!!!!

Our Principal, Kristina Lyman at Ridgemoor Elementary was chosen as Principal of the year in the County of Riverside this week.



We had the entire school, students, teachers, PTA all set up in cafeteria to surprise her when she entered.





She had absolutely NO idea that she had won, or that we were all waiting for her when she was presented with the award.


This is her and her wonderful family!

busy..busy..

I've been busy... Took 3 days off this last week to play with this guy.



Then I finished up these. They still need to be quilted. The kit didn't have backing like we thought it did. (For the shop) they look dark, but it's because it 8:00 @night.












And this is the base, sideways, but they will all be able to attach and switch out for the seasons.


Then I made my little guy this soft blankie..



And I made another one also and embroidered "Cooper" on the corner for a baby present for someone at work. It's another busy week this week. We have 2 birthdays and a special something going on tomorrow that I have to keep a secret. I'll try to remember to take pictures.

Crazy, busy...

Kristina has been keeping me busy at work... Never a dull moment at a elementary school... I come home and I am just exhausted.
This week, my gramma skills have to go to work.
My son Steven, Ronna, and John John have come to visit... I am such a lucky gramma!
