And a bench...

All the farm tables now a days have benches to go with. So..... I put my order in yesterday and wa-la!
Matches perfectly. When Mark did the makeover for the table top...he also made it a foot bigger all around. So the bench will fit 3 people very comfortably.
Now... onto the next project!

Table makeover...

When we moved into our house 14 yrs ago, I bought a little dinette set at Walmart for $49. About 6 yrs ago, I painted the top piece dark brown just to give the room a little color. I knew it needed to be re painted but wasn’t looking forward to it.
I forgot to take a before picture in the house before we started, so here it is in the garage.
Ever since we painted the cabinets, this little table has looked out of place with the oak color. Talked Mark into helping me and went to Lowe’s.
Bought some plain lumber, a variety of sizes and started making a farmhouse table.
Here is our $80 makeover.

It was around $50, then I opted to try this FABULOUS primer spray paint and some more FABULOUS white spray paint. I have never used such neat paint.
Here is a chair before..
And then after..

I am over the moon happy with my little makeover and it looks wonderful in the kitchen.

Here’s the paint. I think I used 2 of each.

Quiltville...

The introduction to the next Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt is available on her blog. The colors are quite yummy too if you follow her suggestions.
Coral, teal, creams, Browns... hmmm this could be quite pretty!

Halloween...

Bought this last year at Houston Quilt show and am now just working on it now.
I have 3 partially done and once I looked at this picture, I may go back and frog stitch those 3 blocks I started.
I machine appliquéd matching thread color to color of material. Looking at quilt sample, I like how they did all theirs in black. Looks more like Halloween to me.
Ugggg. It will be worth it though.

2 finishes...

FINALLY a finish... 2 at that.
I think the top one was pieced in 2015, only because it’s dated on a Bonnie Hunter Quiltville mystery pattern. Actually, I take that back. First clue comes out Black Friday and goes for weeks after. So it’s early 2016.

After I took this picture, it went upstairs and straight into the washer. It’s all washed and crinkled now and ready for use.

This one is Edyta Sitar’s “on eagles wings”.

I just love doing paper piecing in between all my other goings on. That way I don’t get burned out. It also, got a washing and it’s going to hang in my bedroom. They both have been labeled also but I forgot to take a picture of those.

2 pumpkin patches...

Started off going to a pumpkin patch that we went to last year and it was awesome. This year not so great.

Trash everywhere, rotting pumpkins, and 3 school buses with little kids and all there mommies and siblings. It’s funny, with all those people there, I managed to take pictures with no one in the back ground.
We left there and stopped at another on the way home.
8 bounce houses, petting zoo, power wheel tractors to ride on and games to play. Only bad thing was... it was 100 degrees! Yes, 100 degrees!

So by the time we ate lunch and made it to the 2nd place, he was hot and tired.

Mammoth 2017...

Warning, picture overload coming...
My husband had his annual 'guys fishing trip' in Mammoth a week ago from Tues-Fri. So I had the grand idea of driving up on Friday and staying till Monday.
Mentioned the idea to some friends and then they wanted in.

We had a blast... went to like 5 different lakes to fish, didn't even make it to 1/2 of all of them... fed the deers...hiked...just did some plain ol' relaxing...
And for those who don't fish.... you make a bed out of rocks and sleep in the sun.

Just look at these trees... unbelievable!!!

Aurifil...

I am not a big fan of Aurifil thread at all. And maybe this is why.... I think I have been using it wrong all along. This answers a lot of questions.
I have no idea why it's blurry, it's looks fine in my pictures. You can google aurifil thread chart and it will come up. I do have some in my drawers, can't wait till I use them up. I just think it's overly priced and I'm not happy at all with it. Who knows, I'll try again and use it the right way this time.
My go to thread....
This is theeee most amazing thread.. I think I have it in all colors just about. I started using it when I was doing my machine appliqué and then I just got hooked. It is my go to, everyday thread. Love it..
