Free fall ....

Update....
The front looks great so far... I took it off so I could do the edges....
It's ALL screwed up on back! I even clamped the sides so I don't know how the heck it got all clumped up and wonky. I took it out to the trash, brought if back in 1/2 hour later and threw it in the garage. This is the one that my machine got all messed up on also. So.... Between messing with the machine for days...working with the wool, sewing, quilting and un quilting 2 full rows TWICE...I have spent at least, easily almost 60 hrs on this damn thing.
Not sure what to do now.... The top is fully quilted except for sides. It just may go back out to the trash.
**********************************************************************************************

I tried the 'free fall' quilting as many people call it....

It's not for me, that's for sure. I'm going back to rolling the top AND the backing. Lots of people love it and say that's the only way they quilt...I have better luck the other way.

100 + blocks done!

I finished... Can't believe it, but their done! They almost don't even look like spools... They look like bow ties, they are so small.

Especially the striped ones..

Good thing I made a couple extra because some of them are either really wonky or the seams are just plain ridiculous!

Side tracked...

I had full intentions of finishing up a couple of quilts today. I sat down with my cup of tea this am, checked my emails, Instagram, Facebook, then started on my little ol' blogs.. Oops ! Big mistake. I got almost to the end, Temecula quilt Co. And read about a summer quilt along she's doing.
SPOOLS! Oh my! I love spools.

http://temeculaquiltco.blogspot.com

8 hrs later... I still have to connect all these babies... And it's not easy. There tiny! They finish at 2 1/4". What the hell was I thinking! 100 blocks at 2 1/4" aack!
And this is only the ends.... I already sewed the middles together.

Each set makes 3 blocks and it really takes like 5 mins to sew a set together. It's time consuming. And the seams DO NOT LINE UP! Grrr. I'm gonna do the best that can be done and not worry about it. This will take me the rest of the night.
Not really sure I like these small quilts.

First day of summer...

Today and tomm I took the day off, to start summer early. I was limited on what I could and could not do at work because of new carpeting being installed... Soo..... I took these 2 days off because if I didn't, I would be doing other peoples work. I am all up for helping others out at work, but when I do my own work in a timely manner and others can't and I help them at it ALL year long and it's kinda expected..... I'm done! Early summer break for me. They can figure it out.
So, I met my good friend Marie at the Temecula Farmers Market and we did a little shopping.... We got some yummy fresh fruit and veggies and I picked up some flowers. Just to perk my bathroom up a little.

Stopped in a new little quilt shop in Downtown Temecula, don't waste your time. Maybe 20 bolts of fabric, if that. I don't even remember the name of it, I really don't need to either. They will not be there for long....not the friendliest at the time we were there either. I would rather travel 20-30 mins further and go to Fallbrook or Vista.
Enjoy your summer!!!!

Burp.....

Some of you saw this post already but I had to show it again because it's just so stinking cute!

It's a dizzy designz in the hoop pattern.. It's called "peeker burpies".
I love it, but so sad because it's so small.. 61/2 x 10".. Now I have to figure out what else I could use this on because it surely can't be a burp rag. It was a fun and quick pattern, like 25 mins total including prep.

Treasures...

Here are a couple of things I managed to get today... I had to hold back because I could have spent waayy too much $$$.
Some thread on different size spools that I have never seen before.

2 succulents that I don't have... The one on right is going to a parent at school that has graciously given endless cuttings to me. It is rare, and believe it or not... It is 25 yrs old and I am almost positive she does not have one of those. I would have gotten another for me, but too much $$. If you look close, it really looks like fabric covering a ball. It's neat looking.

Then my brown ware turkey platter. I have been wanting one of these for a long time.. Finally got it without breaking the bank. I have no idea why it looks round, it's oval.

Got keys?..

I found the BEST antique market today! But only to find out that it was the last day ever that it would be open. It was still like almost an hour away, but so much closer than Los Angeles or Long Beach.
Groves Antique Market... It was actually held on The El Tore base, the runways even! I grew up in that area so to be on base and to be at a flea market, I was in HEAVEN!

But sadly, today was its last day. I never had heard about it before, then to find out it had been there 17 years... I was blown away! Farmers market will still be open... That was awesome too.
So maybe they will find another place that is in my area somewhat, easy to get in and out and just as fun. Cross your fingers!
